Body contouring or skin tightening: what are you hoping to change?
Sometimes the goal is a smoother-looking contour. Sometimes it is firmer-looking skin, cellulite appearance or the texture of stretch marks. “Body sculpting” can cover all of these in conversation, but they are not the same concern.
At The GLO’s NoMad studio, it helps to start with the area and the change you want to discuss. This guide connects those goals to the body-treatment menu without expecting one device to do everything.
Begin with the concern
| Your priority | A useful question | Treatment information to explore |
|---|---|---|
| A small localized bulge | Is a contour-focused ultrasound/RF approach appropriate? | Hollywood GLO |
| Cellulite appearance | Is the proposed goal temporary improvement in visible dimpling? | Sexy GLO with Venus Legacy |
| Skin that looks loose or crepey | Is a surface RF conversation more relevant? | XERF |
| Stretch marks or uneven surface texture | Would resurfacing be a better starting point? | Body GLO and Pixel Plasma RF for stretch marks |
This is a guide to the menu, not a way to determine candidacy from a description or photograph. The provider may recommend a different approach after assessing the area.
Hollywood GLO: ultrasound and radiofrequency
Hollywood GLO uses Alma Accent Prime. The manufacturer describes a platform combining ultrasound and radiofrequency, with different applicators and protocols for contouring and skin-related goals.
Ask which component would be used, for what purpose and how improvement would be measured. The relevant conversation is about a selected area—not a guaranteed number of inches or a change on the scale. Alma Accent Prime information.
Sexy GLO: a cellulite-appearance conversation
Sexy GLO uses Venus Legacy, a platform combining multipolar RF and pulsed electromagnetic fields. The manufacturer’s U.S. indication language includes temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite with specified applicators.
Ask which applicator is used for your area and whether the proposed improvement is temporary. Before-and-after photographs should be interpreted with the treatment course and follow-up interval in mind. Venus Legacy device and indication information.
Firmness and texture need their own questions
When laxity is the priority, XERF is a surface-RF service to discuss. It does not excise excess skin. If your goal is substantial skin removal, a surgical evaluation may be more appropriate than a non-surgical package.
When stretch marks or scars are the priority, Body GLO and Pixel Plasma RF focus the conversation on resurfacing. The goal is the appearance of texture; complete erasure should not be promised. Ask about recovery before deciding whether this fits your schedule. Cynosure Lutronic XERF information, Alma microplasma explanation.
What cosmetic body contouring can—and cannot—do
Non-invasive body contouring is not a weight-loss treatment and does not provide the health benefits of weight loss. Effects may be modest, temporary or different from what you hoped for. Depending on the technology, risks can include discomfort, swelling, burns, pigment changes or scarring. Ask about the risks of the exact device and area. FDA body-contouring patient guidance.
Swelling should not automatically be treated as a cosmetic concern. New, painful or unexplained swelling calls for medical advice before choosing a treatment.
Plan beyond the first appointment
If you are fitting visits around work in Manhattan, ask about the full proposed course rather than only the first available slot. Discuss appointment length, spacing, recovery, follow-up and total cost before buying a series. Give the team the actual dates of any travel or event you are planning around.
Agree on how progress will be documented. Consistent photographs, comparable positioning and a clear review date make the discussion more useful than a quick glance in a different mirror.

Quick answers
Is body contouring the same as weight loss?
No. Cosmetic body contouring addresses selected appearance goals. It does not treat obesity or deliver the health benefits of weight loss.
Can one treatment address fat, loose skin and stretch marks?
These are different concerns. Ask the provider to identify the primary goal and explain whether one approach or a staged plan is appropriate.
Are results permanent?
Duration depends on the treatment and individual response. Some effects are temporary. Ask how follow-up and any maintenance will be decided.
Does non-invasive mean there is no recovery?
No. It describes how the treatment is delivered, not a guarantee of no temporary effects or complications.
